It sounds good, until you realize, that all Iraq had is old T-55 and some stock T-72. In combat with Russian army tanks would burn massively on both sides, planes would fall, and US veterans who got used to "air strike is the solution to everything" would be demoralized. Remember Georgia, they learned from american instructors, and after 4 days of fighting they fled and left lots of working shit behind (like ~60 tanks (Russia took 44 of them home, rest-destroyed.))

Worldwide military analysts and experts have stated Russian military has HUGE flaws and weaknesses. Not to mention lack of training and good quality equipment.
Georgians didn't even have serious defense capabilities at all. Yet they managed to destroy 60+ Russian tanks, 21+ aircraft and 3 gunships.

Russia has issued new, reduced casualty figures for the Georgian conflict, with 133 civilians now listed as dead in the breakaway region of South Ossetia (still exaggerated). Read any news reports about it.
The figure is far lower than the 2,000 people Russia initially said had died.

What's sad is that Russia at the time had to copy a design of the B-29. Which was obsolete by the time Russia produced it as a Strategic Nuclear Bomber. Russian Navy is garbage, how many submarines did they lose in accidental loss compared to the U.S.? Why was the AK-74 made? It's b/c they saw the potential threat of a smaller caliber round that the U.S. used in the M-16 in Vietnam. Instead using a 5.45 caliber.
