George Allen's Knight Templar played by Black Dyke at the Whit Friday Quickstep Contest held at Delph in Saddleworth on June 1st 2007. Sorry about the clipped opening - this was the winning performance at Delph.

I asked Matt (the bass player and strap in question) and to quote:
"I was wearing the marching strap but not in the usual method. When we march down the street I wear it over my right shoulder as normal to support the instrument.
For the contest march though, I find that the strap impedes the breating slightly so I take it off and hang it over my left shoulder, which gives a little bit of support.
Hope this clears up the srap on (ha ha ha!!!) or off question for everyone.

Absolutely top class! Along with Grimethorpe, the best in the world (I've lived in Bradford AND Barnsley so I'm biased towards both bands). Just one critisism - I thought the saxophones were a bit feeble ... just joking.

And I live in Wales, so my bias and the 4barsrest rankings insist that you include Cory in your list of the 'best in the world'. Along with Foden's, these bands are truly in a league of their own.

Really good players. They are world class. I do workshops with some of the players every year. I also do a concert with them. Well not just me the whole of consett junior brass. Im very priveledged tbh.
