Mitt Romney recently attacked Barack Obama over his comments regarding the war in Afghanistan and the need for more troops on the ground, so as to reduce the reliance on air raids that have often resulted in Afghan civilian casualties. Romney called Obama's comments "outrageous" and "a suggestion that somehow our troops are not noble and dignified." But even a quick glance at the realities of the situation in Afghanistan shows that Romney has remarkably little understanding of the facts.

just wait till we get closer to the primary... it's kind of disgusting. but the debates yesterday (see the video if you didn't catch them on george s's sunday morning show yesterday) were a little bit cleaner. at least edwards is encouraging that they all play nice - maybe he's just sick of getting ragged on about his haircut though. i'm tired of hearing of it, at least.

So: It is not just Hillary the one who recommends Obama to keep his mouth shut, or at least that he learns the facts before he opens it in public... Romney says the same thing too...justifiably:
We are not willfully killing innocent bystanders anywhere! This TPM mouthpiece may wish to twist the interviews, but if you listen carefully none of the people interviewed says we are acting callously...This leads me to think that Obama may be fit to become a TPM mouthpiece, but not Our President.

What is interesting to me is that war is a business, a big business. And as money is our interest, the "war biz" shall continue. Obama is no ones mouthpiece. He is his own person who has a platform of 'diplomacy' versus 'smoke 'em out', 'John Wayne'-esque ideologies and actions that perpetuate killing. Any eye for an eye? At the end of the day, we're all blind.

Obama has shown the world his immaturity in handling touchy situations when experienced diplomacy is needed instead. His rash words will only drive our allies from us. Pakistan has had riots because of Obamas idiotic statement that he'd attack them to get to Osama bin Laden. Only a total fool would say that, which Obama clearly is.

Mitt Romney and Hannity are just tools. Think about what Obama said. If you go into wars poorly equipped and poorly manned then to deal with problems on the ground, whats one of the only options left? Air raids! And what is the record of air raids in both iraq and afghanistan, in terms of mistakes and civilian casualties? Shameful! And how many civilians died in Iraq in July and August alone? 6,600!

The problem with the American administration is that they think American life is more precious than any other life in the planet. If an American dies, its a national tragedy, if an Afghan or Iraqi dies, its an accepable loss of unfortunate collateral damage!

juanjuan, that's a great observation. Yes, certainly it's bad when Americans die, but it's sickening when any innocent life is lost. To think of an innocent Afghani or Iraqi life lost as "unfortunate collateral damage" is like a cyborg or something inhuman... incomprehensible to me. Surely any such life snuffed out, ripped apart from loved ones and purpose, is a tragedy.
