The Children's Mercury Poisoning Studies JAMA, Vol. 295 2006 confirmed harm from amalgam despite their conclusions. Subsequent studies have repeatedly confirmed the harm to kidneys and selective harm to boys. Barregard Enviro Health Per. 2008
Office of Human Research Protection letter May 2, 2007 ruled that the Portuguese study was in deed unethical. I told the investigators the same thing before they damaged their first orphan. Shame on ignorant dentists who use children as experimental rats.

Thanks for the compliment;-)
As you can read I have to work at helping others understand what is happening in dentistry and how to protect themselves.
I shouldn't have to but the fact remains that many dentists are still deceiving their patients by merely reciting the mantra that mercury and fluoride are safe and effective and refusing to address the toxicological profile for any of the materials they use.
Your battle is one ... ( 2 weeks ago by elementaljoe)
Your battle is one of, I suppose, myriads. In every conceivable way, humankind is poisoned and harmed. A core question is, why do we ask "how much poison is OK," rather than "why are we accepting any poison at all?" We lean in the wrong direction, and why is that? Not just at the level of a dentist who has sacrificed so much for what he has, but at the highest and lowest places in society. I hope to see this critical analysis and re-evaluation take place in my lifetime.
Keep the faith.

Go get the old book or look on the package of amalgam you obviously have been sniffing. The MANUFACTURER lists those ingredients. What is your point. Are you now trying to claim there is no mercury in a mercury filling?
You, the ADA and ... ( 2 weeks ago by davidkennedydds)
You, the ADA and Mackert all claim a mouth full of amalgam (12) gives a daily dose of slightly more than one microgram (NOT Mg).
When orphan children were implanted with just 4 mercury fillings they began to urinate out 3 to 4 micrograms per day. Kidney's at most eliminates 20% of the daily intake.
Therefore, if you or Mackert are correct these children should urinate at most 0.1 microgram.
They don't.
WHO in 1990 stated, "Mackert's (your) calculations do not fit the empirical evidence.
You can read below ... ( 2 weeks ago by davidkennedydds)
You can read below how difficult it is for Dentist 7ub3s to get his mercury addled head around some simple math.
If 4 fillings make children pee out 4 micrograms and if kidneys are only able to capture 1/5 of the daily dose then the children must be exposed to 20 micrograms per day.
The EPA's Adult minimum risk level for mercury is 10 micrograms per day therefore, dental amalgam poses an unacceptable risk especially to vulnerable subsets such as women of child bearing age and her fetus.

Mercury vapour is much heavier than air - how come it's rising like steam? Could it be water vapour - it only happens when the tooth is wet, which won't make any difference if it's mercury.

Hot air rises and carries the gas with it. For proof that ti is mercury and not water simply watch the video response 9.31 above from "The Beautiful Truth" movie to see it fall in a hot room with a cold tooth.
In this ... ( 1 week ago by davidkennedydds)
In this demonstration the room was cold (Oxford England) and the tooth was heated, therefore since hot air rises it carries the gas with it. We've repeated these experiments in a hot room with a tooth stimulated by merely scratching the surface and you can watch mercury fall toward the floor.
Mercury is a hugely toxic poison especially to vulnerable subsets such as children. Dentists should not be allowed to call these 50% mercury fillings "silver" and should be banned NOW (See video response).

I understand your campaign to not place amalgams and discourage their use. In fact, I agree. But some dentists fear publicly denouncing amalgams as a health risk because it is often seen as "unethical" in the minds of state dental boards which can and have revoked dentists' licenses for this. There are many dentists who agree with you, but cannot wage such a public campaign for fear of losing their license. Your thoughts?
It is true that the ... ( 4 days ago by davidkennedydds)
It is true that the ADA and their component societies have conspired with the dental boards to try and suppress this information (much to their everlasting shame) the board has not attacked me. Among other efforts I've personally gone before the boards both dental and OSHA on numerous occasions to decry their inaction in protection of employees.
Dentists by license can't connect the dots by stating that mercury causes disease X. We can say don't swallow or inhale mercury. It's a deadly poison.
Many dentists have ... ( 4 days ago by davidkennedydds)
Many dentists have been attacked by the dental boards at the encouragement of the dental societies and the public and profession continues to suffer. They deceptively advertise poison metal fillings "sliver" in violation of the consumer protection laws that require ingredients listed in order of concentration. Mercury filling is the correct term.
Courage is the virtue that allows all other virtues to flourish.
My motto: Stand up to liars and share your opinion of their actions with everyone.

Unfortunately you are very sadly mistaken.
While may dentists have abandoned this toxic plug slightly less than 50% still use it and as a result 70 tons of mercury continue to be implanted in the US and a proportionately reduced amount in Canada with a smaller population.
This is a major problem of perception. If people believe that they got 'silver' fillings they fail to act. If they think mercury use has stopped they do not react.
The problem is on going and continues to this day.

I didn't say i got a "silver" filling. Mine is non metal. Cant remember what it was, but it's tooth colored, and had to be baked with a UV light or something.
You cant even see it in my mouth. While i dont doubt that mercury in your mouth is a bad thing, i think it's being replaced at a rate your not giving credit to.

I understand that you don't have any mercury fillings. That is a good thing. But this is not about you and me. it is about the greater good.
Removing mercury is very dangerous to vulnerable subsets (APOe 4/4 & CPOX+) if not done with meticulous attention to preventing the patient and staff exposure to both mercury vapor and particulate amalgam.
It can and should be done safely.
Mercury use is declining because people like you have chosen better materials not because the dentists got wise.

Most Americans have ... ( 1 day ago by heyjbone)
Most Americans have seven or eight fillings. The amount of mercury released daily is about one microgram per seven fillings, according to a 1997 World Health Organization report. A microgram is one-millionth of a gram. By comparison, we absorb five to six micrograms of mercury from food and water sources each day, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. And the upper limit of permissible exposure set by government safety standards for workers is equal to about 460 micrograms per day.
We know dental ... ( 1 day ago by heyjbone)
We know dental amalgam releases trace amounts of mercury vapor. The World Health Organization has looked at various levels of mercury exposure and determined the threshold for when mercury exposure becomes toxic. Based on those studies, it would take 265 to 312 amalgam fillings to reach toxic levels of mercury exposure, according to J. Rodway Mackert, dental professor and materials-science expert at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.

Dont' be insulting to people. I've never called you any names. I asked you questions about your claims from a textbook, and I get an Ad hominem argument from you. I've only asked you questions because there are areas that seem questionable and I just wanted to follow up to them. If I don't ask any questions then I'm no better than a dental technician.
