From my point of view she means that she doesn't need a guy to take care of her, or give her money. She means she's independent, and instead of dating a man for wealth or items, that she wants to actually love and be loved.

wow. I loved her first CD so much I played it out. and I wasn't much for her music when she released her 2nd CD but I found out that her first CD was pretty much done all by her management. She didn't get to make any of her own decisions. They told her how to look, talk, dance, and sing. But I'm glad that all that changed. She is more herself and her own person and she expresses her personality. I like her better how she is now. Things changed for the better for her, and I'm happy for her. =)

i was floored when i opened this video for the first time 5 mins ago... i remember rocking out to this song and loving it i had no idea it was p!nk!! ha! i have to agrea i thought back in the day it was TLC... but now that i know it was her it just makes me realize that ive always been a fan and ive not just "jumped on the p!nk train" like so many ppl say... i love other songs she did too back in the day i just didnt know this one was one of hers!!!
