Glossy makes the screen colours more vivid. Matte stops the lights in the room reflecting glare all over the screen. Matte would be my choice: Especially for a portable.

I did not have Fraps running to check but the FPS are smooth enough to accurately dogfight without stutter-warps.

I can see that it looks very smooth. Fraps would have degraded the fps quite a lot. That's why I use Growler Guncam.
You can have FPS displayed in IL2, though. In any flight screen press Pause, then Shift+Tab.
You will see lots of text as this is the control panel. Type fps START SHOW (with caps and spaces as shown) press Enter then Shift+Tab to turn off the control panel. FPA information is constantly displayed at the top center f the screen.

Remember, this is Windows running on a Mac, not an emulator. This means that any peripheral designed to work in Windows will be fine. For example, I am currently using a CH Combat Stick, CH Pro Rudder Pedals and a Track IR 3. They all work fine. You should have no problems Jason.

There is text communication but no official built-in voice software. However, Teamspeak or Ventrilo could be used in conjunction when playing. Many squads and online groups run servers for this purpose.
