This is my drill instructor from bootcamp, Parris Island. Marine Corps Recruit Depot. Staff Sargeant Pires, one mean mother fucker.

I'm in an MCJROTC battalion in Missouri and we've been taught to call Marines by their 2 other names: Devil Dogs and Leathernecks. I saw a super-old Marine today at Wal-Mart with Chesty on his arm and said, "You didn't pass unnoticed, Devil Dog" and he gave me the most stern oorah he could lol.

theyr not TRYING to act tough they r tough. and the yelling is a mental game.when they all yell at u at the same time its 2 simulate combat stress while u need to get the job done. trust me u wont be laughing at a DI. its alot different when theyre in person then on a computer screen

There is nothing wrong with crying. Have you ever seen Marines cried before? Maybe you should join the Marine Corps and find out for yourself. It ain't fun to have people in your face yelling all the times. It is funny for me to watch this and laugh about it. But I assure you that it was not funny when I was in that recruit's place.
