RAF AFGHAN DIARIES: SPECIAL FEATURE: WMIK
Uploaded by: royalairforce
Video Description:
SPECIAL FEATURE: WMIK stands for Weapon Mounted Installation Kit. Section Commander Corporal Ryan is on hand to show off the vehicles capability and weapons, which include a 0.5 caliber heavy machine gun. Built to provide cross country mobility and fire power, the RAF Regiment is using them to control the area surrounding Kandahar Air Field in order to provide protection for both troops and aircraft, it is, as Paul likes to say a very 'Gucci' bit of kit.
The RAF has given Paul Goodfellow a handheld video and a small 'lipstick' camera to create his films; he has no previous experience as a cameraman. His videos are checked in Kandahar to ensure they don't include any sensitive data, then sent to London and posted online.

I shoot a lot of good stuff out on the ground, but a lot has to be cut out, for security reasons. Shame at times!
Cheers for watching and any ideas on what you would like to see, give me a shout!
Take Care.
