It is my impression that the XVI Amendment was never officially ratified. Beyond that, according to those in the film, the XVI is unconstitutional as it goes against apportionment and is without regard to census or enumeration as stated in the original document's articles. No?

The 16th amendment was ratified in 1913. It explicitly allows federal income taxes and it explicitly says "without apportionment." It strains credulity to argue that a portion of the Cnstitution is "unconstitutional." Or to equate taxation by a democratically elected government, a fundamental component of the social contract, with organized crime.

Well, I guess we need a Revolution then! Give me an explicit definition of "income" because a wage is not income. It is PROPERTY! It is used as equal exchange--as in "trade" for time. If there was no such thing as PAPER money for trade, people would trade goods...again "property", which can not be taxed nor should it. The value of the good is the inherent good itself -- unlike the paper. Currency was developed by the bankers not so much for ease of exchange but for slavery through taxation!

You speak of Socialism. You are misconstruing facts. Weather it was ratified or not, it is unconstitutional. The Constitution defines "income" as gains or profits on the sale of goods (aka CAPITAL). A wage or salary which is property earned cannot be INCOME. It is exactly what it says it is: a wage or salary which is an extension of PROPERTY. You are the entitlement of your property exclusively otherwise it cannot be considered property. TAXATION on property is thievery!

Listen, most Libertarians understand it as organized crime. Go vote for McCain then. I'm a Constitutionalist. It is too bad you feel someone who questions authority is a whackjob. I don't mean to suggest that there's something wrong with questioning authority, or that you personally a "whackjob." But I'm disheartened that so many people seem unable to question the overreach of the government without creating all-encompassing conspiracy theories about the Federal Reserve, 9/11, etc.
Surely no one denies that society requires government and that government requires taxes. How is income tax, progressive or otherwise, worse than any other kind of tax? I am left unconvinced.

I appreciate your dialogue; I for one was in denial. We have been programed to think that Government is our friend, that our religious institutions are our friends, when in fact they are the greatest threats to humanity. Yes, very limited sovereign governments are necessary but I do not have time nor room right here to get into all the evidence as to how governments are now working for the owners of the largest banks and religious institutions at citizens expense.

All critism I have read on this film relates to inaccuracies [claimed] to Russo's interpretation of tax law, and also some trivial mis-quotes and the like.
Who cares? Because the real issue relates to the core structure of the Federal Reserve system. I have seen no opposition to the assertions in this that would actually matter.
