Pakistan was formed with many hopes and aspirations of people of both E.Bengal and W.Pakistan. But after 24 years of systematic exploitation of E.Bengal the people gave their verdict in the Nov'70 elections for an exploitation-free Pakistan where the Bengalis would have equal status as the W.Pakistanis. This did not sit well with the West Pakistan. They killed 3 million Bengalis and pushed out 10 million more into India. This is not the Pakistan that is portrayed in this song...

well, i would not call this as stolen. this is a song in its own rights and so much the better for it. pradeep's song in jagriti used to be a staple for most of us growing up. then came the tv channels and now it is only on youtube that we can get such songs.

It is a beautiful song as is the oner from Jagriti - what does it matter where it came from as long as it touches the soul and means something to each of us.
Why don't you bickering fools remember that whilst the priests foster dicvisions, our children sleep in the streets hungry even today.
The rest of the world looks on, and it laughs, whilst we fight amongst ourselves - we deny our heritage and our past, se deny our children food, health and wealth.
