RAF AFGHAN DIARIES: SPECIAL FEATURE -- WEAPONS RANGE

SPECIAL FEATURE: It's a hot, dusty day in Afghanistan and Paul, along with the other troops from 51 Squadron RAF Regiment are heading to a firing range to test fire the squad's weapon systems. It's the first time off base for many of the men and some are understandably nervous. Whilst on the range the troops fire a range of weapons, including lightweight machine guns, the landrover mounted .50 calibre heavy machine gun and Paul's personal favourite, the 51mm mortar.
The RAF has given Paul Goodfellow a handheld video and a small 'lipstick' camera to create his films; he has no previous experience as a cameraman. His videos are checked in Kandahar to ensure they don't include any sensitive data, then sent to London and posted online.

I agree that more and more american solders is going to irak and similar misions, just to feel the rush of shotin and killin people. they can't do it at home or they have no bolls to do it, so why not to go in irak and do it "legaly". At the ende they get even a medal of honor.

Hey, that little mortar looks like the old " Knee mortar" the Japs used back in WW2. Anyone else seen one of those? Really good video guys, I didnt half of that stuff about the weapon mount and the GPM.

JamesJ422: actually, the U.S. military just recently lowered its standards for new recuits for entry. The U.S. military will now take in any low life piece of trash that breathes...including high school drop outs and felons. Look into it. 1/4 U.S. troops has a criminal record and didn't finish high school. I'm sure it will get worse as time passes. Also, perhaps you should educate yourself on the truth about 911 and this so called Iraq "war". You will learn that it's based on all lies.

Hate to break this to you, but the US Army has always taken those who dropped out of high school, as long as they agree to get a highschool diploma after basic.
I quit high school in 10th grade, got my HS diploma and now working on my masters degree at Penn State university. So pelase, lower your ignorance level a few notches.
