Canadian and Afghan forces engage Taliban in firefight

Over July 8-9, coalition and Afghan forces launched an offensive against the Taliban in Zjarev district, 25 km west of Kandahar. The offensive, coined operation Zahar, was initiated after locals supplied information that the Taliban had emerged in the area. According to Canadian Forces L.Col. Ian Hope, coalition forces were able to quickly move on the information, gaining the element of surprise. A video filmed by Master Cpl. Ronald Duchesne, from Canada's military combat camera unit, shows Canadian and Afghan forces engaging the Taliban in a firefight.

meniosgc plz dont get Canadians confuesed with Americans. we never tourched those ppl we never did the things u mentioned about the prisoners. the Canadian forces were called there by the UN and our forces before they do a bombing they warn the ppl to get out but if u a taliban stand there and fight instead of being cowards. Canadian soldiers do not go to war to kill the innocent they go to war to rid of the evil and to bring stability to a country. these men truly do mean good and not harm.
