Thanks a lot for the videos Yasmine. exactly what I was looking for for a WHILE :-). I speak Arabic and pronouncing is easier I guess the aa, kha and the gha :-). My friend is impressed already, two days so far with your videos and already talking small meaning full sentences. my friend was where are you learning Dari from "she does not like the accent, but that will be another thing to work on" I got her jealuse when I said a "Friend" named Yasmine is teaching me "she did not want me to... :-)"

i think it's more grammatically correct to say "man sar-e kaar meram" / من سر کار می‌روم, the compound verb "sar-e kar raftan" / سر کار رفتن is "to go to work"
'aww' / آو as meaning 'yes' is interesting, it is never used in written language, what dialect is this from? it sounds like it could be influenced from the pashto 'ho'/ هو

:) these lessons are for people who are looking to learn CONVERSATIONAL dari. NO ONE walks around saying MAN SAREH KAAR MERAM. MAN is VERY PROPER like "from the book" and thats NOT what I am teaching here its just basic CONVERSATIONAL dari that EVERYONE speaks. Nothing TOO fancy. lol AFghans dont even talk like that why would I want people who are JUST learning to speak like that ? Aww = yea Balay = yes Kar mayrum is Im going to work :) its JUST fine but thank you anyway

really? i got told by a herati that works at a pizza place that without using 'sar-e' in certain constructions like 'going to work' or 'sitting at a table', the sentence sounds really awkward, must just be a dialect difference!

:) lol @ pizza place llol like it matters the place of employment lol but... Sar-eh is ON TOP OF.. Sareh mayz on top of the table. SOME people say SAREH KAAR ASTUM - I AM ON THE JOB but its just like in english you can say the same... Im teachinG KABULI.. since its the capital and its universal dialects should be worried about ONLY if your speaking to someone who is PASHTO zuban or like you said HERATI.. its gonna depend on the person but KABULI is the dari most people speak anyway.

i wanted to learn dari...for a long time and i tried from time to time....but ur effort to put every thing together from the basic to the sentence structure is a great effort and i do appriciate it .... could you use shuma instead of tou in ur teaching ...that would be nice. This stuff is great. Me and my colleagues are journalists in Afghanistan, based in Kabul. Been here 6 months, will be here for a good few years and thought learning Dari would help our jobs to no end. This guy teaching us from what I gather he is teaching us very formal stuff, when all we asked him for was conversational. This is great, cant believe I have stumbled on this. Thank you so much,this is all I wanted and needed. Your great. If you are ever in Kabul, let NATO TV know. Peace.x
