One of my all-time faves! It's one of 2 songs in my life that I went out and bought immediately after hearing it on the radio.

All right! I haven't heard this song in at least 30 years, and I had completely forgotten the names of the artists, confusing them with Hamilton, Joe, Frank, and Reynolds. Yes, white funk, as funky as I ever got. Such a wonderful time in music, with totally different, new stuff pouring out of the radio every day. It almost made up for the war in Vietnam, Mutually Assured Destruction, and Richard Nixon.

I am glad to see some people out here that remember this song. It received big top 40 airplay back in the day, yet, no one I talk to can remember it or the group. This is Detroit I am talking about where I lived those years at.

Tony wrote the song in the back room of 'The Railway Arms' pub at West Drayton station. Kim and Roy played with Ron Wood in 'The Birds'.

I saw these guys with Three Dog Night in 1971 at the Baltimore Civic Center. My first concert ever. What great memories. The same year, I was lucky enough to see BadFinger, Rare Earth, The Raspberries, and James Gang performing on seperate weekends at the Robinson "High School" Gym, in Fairfax VA. This was before the Capital Center and the huge venues. It was so much better.

Another gem from the early 70s. Makes today's overwrought pop/rock look pathetic!

Fantastic, reminds me of the first foreign holiday I ever went on. This song was forever blaring from the juke box in Pollensa, Majorca and the Spanish loved it too.
£66 for 14 days in the sun (includimg flight and hotel) plus spending money of course.
Happy uncomplicated days, great memories.

I first heard this, or part of it, while I was a guest of Her majesty. Loved it then and still love it.I only heard part of it, because I'd ask the goon to turn it up, and he'd turn it off! I had to wait till my holiday was over to hear the whole song. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of the wonderful time I had in the go slow.

I just prefer the original - well it fits in with programmes such as Bargain Hunt, Cash in the Attic, the Ballad of Baskerville, Rogue Traders, and Beat the Boss. Well this song wants a music video now with a car coming through the road.
