God bless the Dutch for the sacrifice they are making
and we dont have leopard's at afghanistan bcose
dutch army has a "Dutch Approach" they want to win the confidence of the population by not acting aggressive
and driving whit leopard's trough there home's aint a good thing ;)
Driving arround with leopard tanks and thinking we drive right over houses of cevilians is not a realistic image i think. i can imagine that the afghan people think back to the russian invasion who came with a lot of tanks.
On the other hand a Leopard provides safety though! besides that it is a powerfull tool to "scare" the taliban
but the best option is a couple of more Apache's i guess!
pitty we don't have ceetah's anymore, ceetah and gephard are those the same??
if u look at the americans at Iraq who driving whit tanks too dont have a lot of support of the iraqi people.
I realy beleave that the dutch approach is the best if u see the progress at afghanistan certainly at uruzghan.
and i dont know if gephard are the same but i do know that the dutch army now only have stingers and patriots to defend dutch airspace
Well the American appoarach is quite different, i think tanks are needed in Iraq. Ofcourse some ethnic groups want the possesive force out of iraq same as in Afghanistan.
I also think the dutch approach is quite good!
if only the Government does not wine and complain to much about everything they do...i think there is enough expertise in the army itself to complete this mission.
but i thought the reason we have no leopards in afganistan was because we are there for reconstruction and protection of the civilans not to ran them over, scare them or destroy their homes ;)
