He'd probably try to pull off something along the lines of: "Since this audience is full of non believers, I cannot convince you of this miracle working.Even thou I see it myself through the eyes of Jesus Christ"

That last guy was frightening. So extremely delusional yet ABSOLUTELY convinced. He was also enraged at the thought that Dawkins was telling him he'd wasted his life. He was a short step away from attack, one of the two reactions the "EGO" uses when cornered, the other, of course is flight.
If he'd been a Muslim he would have rushed home and strapped on his suicide bomb.

The scary part is...he DIDN'T escape a nuthouse! He's allowed to walk the streets completely unabated! And there are thousands of people just as scary - and scarier than him - all over the place. *wets pants*

I love him ... anyway, anyone find it funny that the people asking questions could have been planned? the moral question, the big bang question, the evolution question, the stupid question, the bad proof, the religious yet trying to set a name for themselves kind of smart person question, the question/comment .... lol

That last guy was sort of sad actually. The guy is just an animal and since we accept that and accept that he is nuts because human minds are so complex in dealing with life mabey Richard could have tried to give him another option besides religion, mabey act more comforting about the fact that hes nuts.. which obviously he has been thrown into by some other insane people.. He came there and he is asking questions. He is what we have to deal with calmly so he doesn't kill us all..

Maybe but then people would say that Richard was being patronising. The guy asked for Richards response and Richard gave it in a very concrete way without being patronising.

it has been quite a personal journey to have listened to these 12 lectures of Richard Dawkins. His strengths & convictions are admirably shared & expressed. I do hope that some, if not all, of his concepts are at the least given a chance by the diverse community that has stumbled here...I do not agree with all of his concepts, but the logic & structures used to come to his understandings are useful, to say the least. Best wishes.

It is by one's own right to accept or dismiss the information that people share with one another. I respect this immensely. I find that there are very good (not all, but whichever are needed for a live one lives) tools to navigate and observe life with within the parameters of atheism and within the parameters of theism. As I am a complete supporter of free speech, I am just as passionate about freedom to access and share in the conceptualizing tools from all possible sources.

I am of the mind that senses that Richard Dawkins is not necessarily differentiating between useful theism and illogical theism. I would have hoped that a being with his intellect would not need to impose a value system on atheism and theism...but, that he would spend his energy on sharing his love for science and facts. But, I may be wrong...I am new to this level of discourse.

is not necessarily differentiating between useful theism and illogical theism- well problem is there is n otheism (includingthe useful one) that is not ilogical.. it is contradictory by its own nature.

It's not difficult to look at any organisms to see once their biology ceases then there are various stages of decay. So, I can easily say that at the moment of death there is an end. But while alive, the chemistry within the brain can create an endless spew of possibilities. Human beings are susceptible to these chemical reactions. Community mindedness may stem simply from the desire to engage in the brain's manufacturing of stimulating chemicals. Euphoria in both religious & scientific circles.

I would like to think that there is a use and a purpose for all forms of thinking, quantifying and creatuve sentient beings, but reality has shown that people do really terrible things to one another and to themselves. This leads to a constantly unstable platform where a foundation never holds for too long.

I was researching & stumbled upon this. Excuse me for quoting the bible:
genesis 3-22
"The man has now become like one of us, knowing good & evil. He mustn't be allowed to reach out his hand & take also from the tree of life & eat, & live forever."
How have we forgotten that we, by this god's own observation, are self-aware of good & evil? We acquired wisdom not by its teachings, but by the serpent's deception & a very unique apple. This is interesting. Where is the other tree? : )

I would like to think that there is a use and a purpose for all forms of thinking, quantifying and creatuve sentient beings-yeha there is its call survival.adjacent mechanisms to it are evolution, natural selection, genetic variation etc..
