Being a Christian, I find that mine is a monarch and His is a standard worth dying under. Dying to self.
These young men fell for a monarch and beneath a standard that, though perishing, as all earthly kingdoms and kings do, nevertheless is one of the few monarchs and flags left worth giving one's all for.

What?!?! I agree that there are some reasons worth dying for, like defeating the Nazis and stopping them from taking over the world but to be blown to bits or sniped by some cunt in a turbin over nothing but oil is a complete waste of live. Two things. Afghanistan has no oil. Ck CIA factbook, 0 barrels prod/export per day, and here's their listed industries: "small-scale production of textiles, soap, furniture, shoes, fertilizer, cement; handwoven carpets; natural gas, coal, copper." Note the "small scale production" part. Piss poor, in other words.
Second, if it did produce oil, and oil is a vital resource for UK, then what else is a military for?

Right thats a fair point about Afhganistan but I right on why they are in Iraq and this kind of comes with Afhganistan in the package even if theres no oil there. Second its theft to steal oil that doesnt belong to you even if you need it. If I have a car and I rob a petrol station for oil or fuel I will get arrested but its ok for a nation like the UK or US to go and steall billions of gallons of the stuff from the Iraqis!, Third if there were an Islamic Jihad why are there a billion people

But even if Iraq were just about oil (it's not) no one is stealing, but simply trying to free it up to be bought at fair market value on the open market. I kinda wish the US would take some of their oil after all this, and Saudi oil, too, because we've dumped trillions to help these ingrates out and the price of oil is now skyrocketing. heh.
