Everyone is talking about 8th grade graduation in 81.::shakes his head::
Junior year, 81-82 school year. Small town in northern california. A friend talked me into taking/joining chorus. You know, only a coule of guys in he clast, 4 times as many girls.
We were doing a project with the drama Club for a musical that year, a Play called Teen. the girls in the class wanted to get rid of the songs from the play and use the ones from Pradise Theater instead.

The first concert I ever saw, was Styx Paradise Theater at the LA Forum, I had just turned 13, it was a gift, my very first concert, just two 13 year old girls, on their own. I was a poor kid, just the sight of the Forum was stunning to me. I stood on a chair, 10 rows from the stage. I listened simply speechless as the opening song was sung, and went into a trance of awe and bewilderment when the light came on. Wide eye I watched and never forgot.

Damn Yankees, Ted Nugent. It was definitely late eighties though. Tommy Shaw also had a solo career with three albums that came out in 1984, 1985, and 1987, titled "Girls With Guns," "What If," and "Ambition," respectively. I win :).
