oh no dont get me wrong mate im not saying ALL of the infantry is basic, but they train soldiers at a basic level, its amazing to see how many of them excel and either progress in rank or join a special force, what rank are/were you?

Theres nothing basic about army training. Before I joined i had 9 Gcses A-C and 4 A-level equivalents and I still opted to join the Infantry. I lernened more in there than any gcse or a-level could teach me. You think royal marines get taught advanced tactics or something? The only difference is the average fitness levels and a bit of fucking swimming.

are these "high ranking" soldiers bootnecks by any chance? You will come to understand why they think so little of the infantry when you join, dates back to the second world war which they still have a chip on there shoulder about.

i dont mean high ranking marines... im talking about infantry... and guardsmen... paratroopers... signals... etc. you think i made the decision to join the marines off of a whim that they are more elite? even regular soldiers tell me that the Royal Marines are more elite, yeh, like you, not all say that but the ones i spoke to do, i have alot of friends in the army and i trust their judgement
