As a real navy man maybe you could answer this: I saw (on the tele somewhere) footage of a man being sucked in through a jet engine (A6 I think) and surviving. Do you think that's possible?

i have seen the video in safety stand downs in the Navy many times but im not sure if it was an A-6 or if it was EA6-B, but it did happen and the guy did survive just braking like his pelvis or some shit, dont remember, but to answer your question yes its very possible, that guy was a ABE(aviation boatswains mate-equipment,and he was just coming out from checking the launch bar, making sure it was secured inthe shuttle and checking the holdback and with that jet powered up and him too close SUCK

That IS amazing. I had assumed he must have died. I thought he would have come out the back minced. I bet it buggered the engine up, him being bigger than a bird. I'm fasinated by aircraft carriers. I imagine you miss it, although I don't know what you're doing now. I'm actually writing (or trying to write) a fictional book. In your opinion (sorry if this sounds daft) Would modern weapon systems work on old fashoned square rig sail ships (like Ships of the Line)? Would they get a radar lock?

im not sure it would get picked up, depends on what type of electronics the ship you describe would be running, but you have to understand that the Carrier Strie Group is spread out, and there is helo surveilence 24/7 and flight ops going for almost constantly, so i would say thaat a ship like you describe whether it came up on radar or not would bedead in the water regardless, i have no doubt

I'm sure they would wipe it out easyly. In my book there is a (sort of) time travel thing happening, and it would envolve a modern carrier group engaging fleets from the 16th (ish) century. I was wondering how the modern fleet would deal with such a threat. For example I understand in ww2 the bizmark anti air weapons couldn't hit the bi planes (swordfish) because the planes were to slow. Again, sorry if it sounds silly. I didn't know electronics could help to get missle lock. Stands 2 reason tho

Beautifully crafted video - nice choice of music and scenes.
As a peace loving guy, I wasn't so keen on the bombing scenes - reminds me too much of the "collateral damage" caused by such bombs, i.e. innocent children the same age as my own whose only crime was to live in "enemy" territory & who are now dead.
