Video Description:
One of the main highlights and what you have been waiting for, from the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games opening ceremony: the parade of athletes!
As always, the team from GREECE (La Grèce) goes first.
Just like the Atlanta 1996 parade of athletes that CBC did before, it did not have the entire parade shown. Therefore, I will try to show you here what teams were omitted from broadcast then.
Other teams shown here were: Albania (L'Albanie) and Algeria (L'Algérie).
A break of the broadcast omitted these teams: American Samoa and Andorra. From there, the broadcast continued with these teams being seen or acknowledged:
- Angola (L'Angola);
- Antigua & Barbuda (Antigua-et-Barbuda);
- Argentina (L'Argentine);
- Armenia (L'Arménie);
- Aruba;
- Austria (L'Autriche);
- Azerbaijan (L'Azerbaïdjan);
- Bahamas (Les Bahamas);
- Bahrain (Le Bahreïn); and,
- Bangladesh (Le Bangladesh) [just acknowledged].
Another break, with these nations omitted: Barbados, Belarus, Belgium and Belize. From there, this clip showed these national teams:
- Benin (Le Bénin);
- Bermuda (Les Bermudes);
- Bhutan (Le Bhoutan); and,
- Bolivia (La Bolivie).
Notes:
- Afghanistan was not allowed to compete at Sydney 2000 and was kicked out from the IOC temporarily because of the Taliban government's general position on women.
- The Sydney 2000 Olympic Band was heard here preparing certain Olympic teams that entered the former Stadium Australia with their percussion drum cues.
Bosnia and Herzegovina starts the next clip.

Only their flagbearer led the parade there.
I imagined about the parade in 2004 led by Greece and ended with a group of famous Olympic champions.
But thank you so much for uploading this opening ceremony, I remember seeing the whole thing on the TV while I was studying abroad in.. Australia ;)
But where is the Australian team??
