Which is why I needlessly waste my time on Youtube to ask a question I already know of, right? Right.
No seriously, who does it belong to? Uzbek? Azeri? Turkey? Some other Turkish nation-state? I call myself the Grey Wolf yet I belong to none and I am not Turk.
Grey Wolf symbol ... ( 2 weeks ago by TISINLI2)
Grey Wolf symbol belongs to ALL TURKS, not just Turks in Turkey. You can even search "Gokturk flag" and see it yourself.

The Grey Wolf is a legend of the Turks. Same goes for the legend of Ergenekon. Very old folktales. They basically tell about the birth of the Turkic people. And they are the things that connect us.

So do all Turks follow and know of this legend? What is this Legend of Ergenekon? This all sounds so interesting! You must tell me more. :)
Yes, there are ... ( 1 week ago by Rimdeker)
Yes, there are kinda two versions of the Grey Wolf. Anyhow, Ergenekon is the legend of the hidden valley in which Turks escaped in after several wars with the Chinese empire. The valley was hidden because you had to go through many maze-like passages. They lived there for decades and once they were enough they left valley of Ergenekon. However they couldn't find the way back until a Grey Wolf crossed their way and led them out. The wolf became some sort of leader for the Turks.
Brother, I know ... ( 1 week ago by Rimdeker)
Brother, I know that we Turks all come from the Altay mountains and I indeed see Uzbeks as my brothers, just like Uyghurs, Gaugauzs and all other Turks. Nomatter what religion. But it really is sad to see how our own Turkic brothers are pushing us and others away. There is this guy called Uzbekpower who is laughing at the Turkey Turks because they got attacked by Mongols. Seriously, why would someone laugh because something bad happened to his brother??

I am flattered to see a person like you liking the Turks :)
I hope one day you will be able to enjoy our hospitality :)

Don't worry about what others think or feel-- especially idiots on here. Some people only live in their asses and no where else. Still, I find it quite interesting this story of the Grey Wolf and the Ergenekon. I never knew Turks had so many varying branches.

I am interested in this Grey Wolf story because I call myself the Grey Wolf-- for different reasons. I also like learning about different cultures, religion, and languages too.
I know what you ... ( 1 week ago by Rimdeker)
I know what you mean. I also am quite interested in cultures and such. Especially Japan during the Bakumatsu era. Anyhow, if you go to wikipedia and search for Asena , you will get a short explanation of the Grey Wolf thing. Unfortunately, there is no English article about Ergenekon (but there is a German one lol, weird).
Haha, I was ... ( 1 week ago by Rimdeker)
Haha, I was surprised myself when I found out about all the Turkic people. Back then in the news they once said that the Republic of Turkey sent Moldavia 30 million US$ to improve the infrastructure of their autonomous region Gaugazia. I was kinda confused so I did some research and found out that the Gaugauzians are Turkic, too. Theyre mostly Christian but Turks and consider themselves as that(and that's the only thing that matters. Religion is a personal matter) Their flag also shows a wolf.
Just look for ... ( 1 week ago by Rimdeker)
Just look for Gagauz People in Wikipedia. Wiki says : The Gagauz people descend from the Seljuk Turks that settled in Dobruja, together with the Pechenegs, Oghuz and Cuman people that followed the Anatolian Seljuk Sultan Izzeddin. More specifically, one clan of Oghuz Turks migrated to the Balkans. This Oghuz Turk clan converted from Islam to Orthodox Christianity after settling in the Eastern Balkans (in Bulgaria) and were called Gagauz Turks. (shortened up due to character restriction)
