This is all completely true. The gun laws in the United Kingdom have done nothing but deprive legitimate, innocent and legal citizens of not only their hobbies and interests, but of also one of their basic human rights - self defense. Something MUST be done in our country. Those who oppose the gun laws are often brainwashed by society's constant teaching of 'firearms being bad'. They are so mislead, we in Britain are NOT safe. Gun crime has increased since the ban, is that not proof enough?

i dont think they need to ban the guns, i think they need to change their government. first of all the officer asked to sencored for speaking out to the public so he wouldnt get fired? do they have freedome of speech? and then a guy was sent to life in prison because he was defending himself in his own home? Before you can totally control a people, you must declaw them. It looks like millions of dollars of firearms were taken without any compensation too. Wow! But I bet the scumbag criminals know how to get guns and use them on the people. As crime against citizens rises, the idiots in the government will realize how incompetent they were. Sounds like it's a good time for criminals in England. Everything leans in their favor. That's a really good way to make your entire society deteriorate.

I wouldn't stand in a line to turn in my guns, and I think very few other Americans would. I'd stock up on Ammo, grab my guns, and wait. They wouldn't be able to take my freedom without a fight. The handgun ban didn't work, so these politicians think that more flawed laws and the destruction of freedom will fix the problem, and it's just wrong. I'm glad to live in America, but if we're not careful we can end up like them as well! That's why I'm in the NRA.

I think the powers-that-be are purposely breeding discontemtment.
So eventually, when the ordinary people cry out "enough is enough!" the government can easily bring in new draconian laws against "criminals", unopposed.
The discontented people of the UK would rejoyce over these new laws! Until of course it's too late, and they realise, in reality they are all living in a police state.
We must always be vigilant, and remain cautious about who we allow to speak and act on our behalfs!

Come and take them. Stop relying on your governments to "protect" you. They don't care about you. Sorry for the people in England, but NEVER surrender your firearms. That is your tool to protect life and property against criminals and government, though they are one in the same.
