I plan on joining the USMC, because I want to. I'm not fighting for freedom, because no one is trying to oppress or invade us. I don't fight for the girl next door, she doesn't even know where to find Iraq on a map. I don't fight for my family because I know they will be ok. I fight because I want to help that young Lance Cpl. or Pfc. in the foxhole next to me. I fight so that he can have a life and return home in one piece. I fight so that one more young soul does not have to be sacrificed.

Well back on topic. For anyone interested this video was filmed in 2002 during the invasion of Afghanistan. The majority of the video was filmed onboard USS Bataan (LHD 5) with the attached 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MUE(SOC)).
It is funny how fast we forget. Not 6 short years ago this was a "patriotic" video. Now it is "propaganda" and "cheesy". Please remember the 3,000 innocent civilian who wanted no part of a war. This video is a tribute to those who have and will make the sacrifice.

I just find out that someone I care sooo much for and lost contact with joined the operation... as someone against the real meaning of this war and the evil behind it, it brakes my heart and can't but feel so much love for the soldiers that regardless of the real purpouse of those in power..this guys are really fighting for what they believe ...unfurtunately they have being misleed it and we must understand and support them regardless....

God now we have our own little war on this commentary log! This war shouldn't be compared to any war cuz there's nothing like any war like this one! The only comparison is that EVERY GENERATION has seen war and lost friends. There are so many people today who knew of someone who has been there done that and are still, mentally, there. My Ex-husband went in 04 and 2nd battalian 4th Marines 1st Mar Div. lost so many!I lost many friends and my brother Tech Sgt Rodney is there in Iraq Now!God speed!

The Constitution is about right to a fair trial, freedom of speech. Someone has to do it. The first week the war was launched an ABC show called Are YOU HOT was launched. Maybe going to college should make you prouder. This is loaded with rhetoric. Defeating the Taliban. What do we really know about the Taliban. You can learn more from watching them on youtube, than reading newspaper articles. They actually have values too. You keep taking them so literal.

The lives of Taliban members have value too. War is about legalized violence against poor people since people with means escape. When Chevron spends billions putting down a pipeline in Afhganistan, they could as a courtesy drill some oil wells. It is really easy for military leaders to manipulate young kids into killing without question, without conscience like those profiled in this video. Thanks for democracy.
