While she has been keen to speak out of alleged injustices, I am REALLY curious as to what Joya's parliamentary activity was. Namely, what if any bills or programs she sponsered to promote Afghanistan's civil reconstruction. Instead of creating such stirs amongst Afghan lawmakers, she could have appropriately distinguished herself by renovating her extremely underdeveloped district of Farah, Afghanistan.

This woman inspires me and encourages me. It's very comforting to know that not everyone is corrupt and jaded. I'm thankful fro a woman like her to be doing what she is doing, so brave. I would help as much as I could, to be a journalist and medic over there. Not all canadians and americans are evil. Evil isn't race, creed, or nation specific. Evil is in one person while good is in thier neighbor. Please stop bashing all canadians for what some of us do.

Not only Afghanistan, but the whole world needs women and leaders like her. It's not only in Afghanistan where misuse and abuse of power is rampant and yet, in most of the so called democratic countries, politicians are bought to hide the truth behind their opinions and softened voices.

Maybe the policy right now is to include EVERYONE who wants to be so at least they don't resort to violoence. Far from perfect but for Afghanistan - a step forward. There needs to be more focus on providing education to the children - if that is being over-looked by the US, well then they have their head up their collective ASS and it will all amount to an even bigger pile of nothing.

I think one thing everyone can agree on is that they want to see Afghanistan succeed; however, I think we need to be wary of trying to superimpose our own voices on the Afghans and instead should really focus on empowering them in what they think is best for the country as long as it respects the people's beliefs culture and rights.

Malalai Joya is probably the only woman (and politician) who speaks the truth with regards to the political state and the warlords of afghanistan.She should not have been suspended..only reason she did was because she was telling the truth.I love her and i look upto her...may you live long Malalai Jan.
