These guys were really underrated and hope they are all healthy and happy.
he was in the band when they were Rhythm Method. I knew him well,they changed the bands name when he left.
Here's my theory: Maybe there was a meth clinic called "Common Ground" in Detroit back in the '80s. Maybe Michael drove by it one day, or saw the name somewhere, and thought to himself, "Hmmm ... 'common ground' ... 'common ground' ... that would make a good song title or a good concept for a song about people finding a way to come together." And maybe he took that idea and wrote the lyrics about human conflict in general.
1) As you see it, what is the message of the song?
2) And since you say, "the title comes from his knowledge of the place," how does the song's message (from Question 1 above) relate to a methadone clinic?
