Right, this would make a great theme song for the Political Party running for our next President of the United States. What really frightens me is that I think Obama might be that person. After watching the speech from Palin and McCain I am so convinced that they are the ones we need to trust in to do the best for all of us Americans!

I always loved this band from the time someone left a cassette of their first album in the tape player of a car I'd stolen. I started catching their shows around Michigan in the mid 80's. Hey Dave remember Stacy Sjarda? They were always super nice guys. When I moved to LA, I just knocked on their door one day and Micheal was home and this video had just been filmed, he played it for me.
These guys were really underrated and hope they are all healthy and happy.

That "crummy" joint was the Freestyle lounge. It was owned by a guy who went to high school with a couple members of the original band called Rhythm Method. The band would stay after hours and the parties were notorious. Sex , drugs and rock-n-roll and lots of it.

Maybe, but which lyrics describe what goes on in a methadone clinic?
Here's my theory: Maybe there was a meth clinic called "Common Ground" in Detroit back in the '80s. Maybe Michael drove by it one day, or saw the name somewhere, and thought to himself, "Hmmm ... 'common ground' ... 'common ground' ... that would make a good song title or a good concept for a song about people finding a way to come together." And maybe he took that idea and wrote the lyrics about human conflict in general.

2) And since you say, "the title comes from his knowledge of the place," how does the song's message (from Question 1 above) relate to a methadone clinic?
