But still there's the problem of telling the exceptional religious people, who're fairly humble with their application of their ideology and respectful to atheistic and secular values, that it's ok that they're religious; and then too carelessly insulting their religion on the other hand whenever bothered by others.

Its much, much, MUCH easier to just say that you aren't delusional and don't subscribe to religious superstition. When somebody asks me my religion, I don't say atheism, I say fuck you.
