The journalist is Sir David Frost, one of the most respected political interviewers in Britain. He is not Arabic but now works for Al Jazeera.
Bringing a politician back to basic points is a very effective technique to stop them avoiding the issue.
I'm sure Frost has a very good understanding of Middle Eastern politics.

to me its sounds pretty damn boring to be a journalist in Al jazeera. if the press is the watch dog of democracy what is the point of the press in a monarchy like Qatar or Saudi arabia. where you can never even critsize any Arab leader or gov. I am watching aljazeera BC it is interesting to hear to Arab point of view but no real debate can come out of aljazeera. I should give them credit thou for bringing some more realist Israeli point of view to the Arab world rather then the usual propaganda

Well he is of course based in England where he can say what he likes. This is, I admit, the only interview of his on this channel that I have seen. However I have seen him interview many high ranking British politicians as well as US Presidents including Bush.
He famously interviewed Richard Nixon whilst he was trying to make his political comeback after Watergate. Nixon had never admitted ny wrongdoing until that interview (when Frost managed to get it out of him).
